IN PURSUIT OF MAGIC – SEARCHING FOR PERFECT FINISHES BOTH AT HOME AND AWAY

It’s possibly the most anticipated long weekend in the Canadian calendar – Canada Day – and this year it means even more to me as it’s my first as a Canadian citizen. So, I’ll probably be sporting a red Roots t-shirt and a big grin on my face come Monday.

We will just have returned from a two-week holiday in France and so we’ll be in the city enjoying the empty streets and lack of traffic. Hopefully, it will be warm, and I can spend time in my garden. It has taken us years to get a garden that is now actually flourishing, and by us, I mean we eventually figured out that we needed to hire a competent person to design and source our plants and then drop by to ensure all is looking good, is still alive, and to update and edit where necessary. A lot like what I do for my own clients with their interiors.

My husband has a big birthday on June 18th and it’s also our 16th wedding anniversary so we booked our trip to France last fall. I’ll share some of the highlights in the next month’s newsletter.

I have a girlfriend who is an American designer who lives in Paris. In addition to running her design firm on two continents, she also organizes trips to Les Puces – the largest flea market in Paris. I am SO EXCITED. I’ve wanted to go for many years, but it always seemed so overwhelming. Going with her, however, means that she can edit what I want to see and only take me to reputable vendors and the like. Apparently shipping home is a breeze….
