Inspiration – Green in all its glorious tones

Green has been my favourite colour F O R E V E R and I truly love every shade from chartreuse to hunter green. As we head into spring, I think we all long for the day when the trees outside our homes burst into bloom and our leafy canopy is once more restored. We can reclaim our privacy from our neighbours, who can no longer see into our windows and we can start to plan for lazy days outside.

I adore furniture upholstered in rich green velvets and mohair, nothing is more indulgent and welcoming in my humble opinion. One of my own living room sofas is upholstered in a green velvet and I swear, just looking at it on a dreary winter’s day makes me feel better. My new studio is going to have a kitchen and a library wall (yes, I am at long last going to have a beautiful library for all my design books) in Farrow & Balls Bancha. Named after the Japanese tea, it’s a colour that’s designed to enforce a feeling of security. It’s going to be so beautiful.

Use green in copious amounts and you won’t regret it!
